Night Service
The Clerkenwell Animal Hospital is London’s hub for referral and emergency medicine. It offers an emergency service, open by appointment, 24 hours a day 365 days a year. A veterinary surgeon and qualified nurse are continually on-call to provide round the clock care for in-patients. Dogs, rabbits, reptiles, cats. Call us.
We offer sensible, pragmatic and unhurried advice on caring for your pets. Our surgical, diagnostic and life monitoring facilities are of the highest standards. We are always on call to provide everything that a modern pet could need. Not only are we on hand when you need us but we also have the latest range of diagnostic equipment, often not available elsewhere at times of emergency.
Located in Clerkenwell we are within easy reach of anyone in zone 1, 2 or 3 of London – North or South, East or West. Situated just off the A1, on 15 Clerkenwell Road (just around the corner from Goswell Rd) and a stones throw from Farringdon Tube, Train and CrossRail. We are accessible from all directions and cover zones 1,2 & 3 Routinely. Wheel-Chair friendly access and there are no hurried unloading issues as we are off the main road.
Veterinary surgeons dealing with out of hours cases have full access to the hospital facilities and patient notes of our client databases.
A veterinary surgeon or veterinary nurse are on the premises to care for any hospitalised animals whose condition requires regular monitoring. Qualified Veterinary Nurses monitor inpatients throughout the day and a patient’s care plan is reviewed regularly by a veterinary surgeon. The individual needs of each patient admitted will be assessed and met as required.
Feline patients are hospitalised in their own secure ward with comfortable heated fluffy ‘vet bedding’, food and water (as appropriate), and litter facilities. We try to alleviate any stress your pet may be feeling by the use of pheromone therapy and avoid any contact between dogs and cats staying with us.
Your dog will be given access to spacious comfortable kennels with access to food and water (as appropriate), larger dogs can use our ‘walk in’ kennels with under-floor heating.
For security reasons and to ensure the safety of our team, our front door will be locked outside our normal opening hours. It is essential that even in an emergency you call us beforehand to let us know you are coming. This will allow us to prepare for your arrival as effectively as possible and can be crucial if, for example, parking arrangements need to be made to facilitate transfer of a collapsed animal.
