Kennel Cough Vaccination

An important note for all dog owners: Kennel Cough or infectious Bronchitis is a very contagious disease of the respiratory system that can affect dogs of all ages. Affected dogs will develop a very harsh dry hacking cough that lasts several weeks. Kennel Cough is an airborne virus that is spread through the air by infected dogs sneezing and coughing.

The good news is that Kennel Cough can be prevented! This vaccine differs from your dog’s usual annual vaccination in that it is squirted up the nostril rather than being injected under the skin.

This year we have seen a high number of unvaccinated dogs contract Kennel Cough just before they are due to use VIPs services. We now recommend that all dogs are vaccinated at least 7 days before using our dog boarding or dog walking services as we cannot take on any dogs that have contracted Kennel Cough due to the risks of infecting other dogs.
